Engine Mounts

I took my car into Mazda and they told me 2 of my engine mounts are cracked. How many mounts does the 8 have and should I really have to pay them over $700 for 2 of them?

Stocks mounts, for OEM, are actually pretty good.

The only company that made aftermarket mounts was MazSport, and they weren't that good- they moved the engine back 3/4" and that led to some issues.

And to the OP, $700 for two new mounts- you're getting hosed. It really only takes 1 1/2 to 2 hours to replace both on your own- under $300 bucks in parts for both mounts.

Mazsport made two different mounts. One set of mounts did move the engine because it made room for their turbo. The other set of mounts kept the engine in the same spot. If you want some Mazsport Mounts get in touch with Fluid Motorsports

Then that should be 400 to 500 bucks at $100 labor rate.
