You have to reset the e-shaft position sensor. Turn the key to 'on'. Then, tap the brake pedal 20 times in 8 seconds. You'll see the oil pressure needle sweep. Basically, the ECU still thinks the old engine is in there. Its expecting the eshaft to be where it used to be. You have to make it learn where the new shaft is.

I had a similar issue when I replaced my engine. Once I reset the e-shaft position, all was well.

Ahh, why do a lot of people seem to blow their engines with the Greddy turbo? I've always put turbo on a list of my mods for this car but really is it that unreliable? What kind of engine life are we expecting from one of these? Because not a lot of people really seem to be getting it.

Wow. You really have 157 posts? I would have thought you'd be a little more aware with that many....

Try, ...hmmm.... I don't know... just poking around a few of the most popular turbo threads!!! :spank:

Ha, im lazy. I have read things about the turbo like people not tuning properly, overboost. But yes, I have also read people logging over 20000 miles with the turbo. But I guess it is the people who only blow their engines because of the turbo that post about it.

hey guys, i just put everything back on and reset the ecu, but the car still run the same, do u think is the stock ecu that could got bad, is their some more places that i also need to check, im plan on take the injectors from an auto rx-8 tomorrow to put it on my 6 speed, see if the injector is the problem, b/c we got an auto rx-8 in the shop that is in with the blow motor also, so im try to fix the problem with the help of the other rx-8, but i can't use the ecu from that car b/c is an auto. if u guys can think anything for me to try please help cause i have try everything that i can think of. thank alot guys.

im in houston TX, i have an extra dongles that i order from greddy, it was gonna help from runing rich, and i have the R flash, but the engine is reman. does the dongle have anything to do with it, i try to run with out the e manage, just the stock ecu with out rev the engine, but no luck.

rx-81688 Jul 4, 2006 03:22 AM

oh, the dongle that came with the kit is 3 of them, but i replace one of the dongle with an little thing that i hook up to the greddy pressure senssor. do i need to put the origionla one back on?

Can spark plugs make any differents? I don't know what kind of plugs they put on the car, but i think they talk about putting colder plugs on it before, so i just wonder. if any comments would be helpful. Thanx

check the crank angle sensor

i had the same proble , engine was running very rich at idle , it was a air leak in the piping (greddy clamps are cheap!) , i tightend every clamp ane it fixed the proble , i would suggest to use mikalor clamps (t-bolt) ant use greddy clamps for plumbing a toilet or a pool filter.
