err .... Owner's Manual ?

Fine, lets just *assume* that you dont have the manual for *whatever reason* and u're such a noob that you dont even bother to search,

Just help ya ONCE, Manual ONLY.

You have 2 ways to do it.

1. In Short - Step your gas pedal down, all the way down, crank your engine for maybe 10 seconds(screw Mazda's recommendation), turn it off, Let your foot go(let the gas pedal go), wait for a couple of minutes because your plugs might be all wet, after couple of minutes start your car again.
by doing the *Depress your gas pedal*, it tells your ECU to cut the fuel delivery, so when you crank the engine, the starter will just push whatever it has inside out of the engine into the CAT(also bad, more later), so you can start. but by doing so, you pushed all the extra fuel to your cat, as soon as your car fires up your cat will turn into a BBQ CAT.

2. Safer way, Try to push the car out to somewhere flat, put your tranny in N, turn your key to on (NOT START!), so you can see your speed, depress the gas pedal, now find a few dudes to PUSHHHHHH your car hmm I would say up to about 10 mph , 15 better, aint that hard to do, hold your leg on the gas dont let it go, now push the clutch down put the gear into 1, try to fire it up while tabbing the clutch just like when you're going thru slow traffic. Your car should start up.

If you still cant, tow it to Mazda dealer

Also if you're AT, tow it.

most cars you can start, move them 10 feet then shut them off with no further consequence .. the 8 is the only car that doesnt seem to like this

doesn't cranking the engine for a prolong amount of time will overheat the starter motor?

Yes but if the mechanic doesn't know about this "quirk" of the rotary or even how to deflood it then he's lacking in basic knowlege about the RX-8.

Yeah.....so don't prolong doing it. 10 seconds is okay but don't do for 10 seconds 5 times in a row. Limit it to just one time of about 8-10 seconds.
Oh.....and just to be on the safe side, I ALWAYS tell whomever is going to move mine for any reason, to ALWAYS allow it to warm up at idle for at least a couple of minutes before shutting it off. I know the recall for flash and plugs was supposed to cure it, but I'm not taking that chance. Actually only two ther people have ever driven mine, one at a Speed Shop, and one at a Tire Shop.
