emergency key
 

When I bought my 8 used it only came with one key, and it was missing the emergency/valet removable key. Of course the dealer promised me a replacement, but I was skeptical of their idea that you could get just the emergency key without the whole fob. Has anyone ever needed to replace a lost e-key? If so, any advice when going to the dealer? I am in a tight spot because the car was purchased from a nissan dealer and my contact at the dealership said to take it to my closest mazda dealer and he would take care of the bill. It all sounds shady to me too, but I have to get the e-key in case I cannot electronically start the car. The car is a 2007 by the way with the keyless start (not sure of the name).

uh, i'd go talk to the mazda dealership. if he said he'd settle the bill, that sounds fine with me. dealerships do favors for each other all the time.

Yeah that's the plan, I was just wondering if anyone has any experiences with replacing missing e-keys and if they are replaceable without getting a new fob.

Yes ..they can be programmed at the dealer with the iDS
