E-Brake Light wont' shut off

I'm not too sure what happened with the wiring of the E-Brake, but right now when the Ebrake is off, the light still remains on. Wanted to know if anyone else had this problem or experience, and if there is a certain fix for it. Thanks ahead of time

Yes, I had the same issue. But once I got my front brake pads replaced, they were almost completely gone the light went away and has never been on since.

could be the brakes as samyv2 mentioned or you could be low on brake fluid.

hmm.. it defnitely wasn't the brake fluid i guess i'll change the brakes and see what happens

or possible the button under the center console that gets pressed/depresseed witht that handle got stuck somehow or disconnected I would check that before goin to change brakes especially if you don't need them

Ckeck the Brake Fluild and see if it is at max. Changing the front pads will not affect your e-brake in any way shape or form the e-brake is connected to the rear not the front. Do you use the e-brake a lot if not pull up on it hard a few times maybe something is getting stuck.

Bump.

I just had the e-brake light problem starting yesterday and i just wanted to confirm that, much to my surprise, topping off the brake fluid worked.

I punished my brakes pretty hard at the track yesterday and i thought i broke something but it just needed a couple ounces of fluid. FYI.

P.S. - where does brake fluid go? As far as i know i don't have any leaks but its strange how it just disappears :dunno:

The same place as socks that are put into dryers. :)

Or maybe it goes into the caliper bores as the pads wear down.
