DSC Always on!

I cant figure out why...everytime i get in the car the DSC is on and i have to turn it off, even though the time before i had turned it off, why does it automatically come on everytime you start the engine?

legokcen 04-16-2004 08:34 PM

Yes. Everytime the engine is turned off, it resets.

It would help if you would read the owners manual. It explains that the DSC is designed to operate that way - it is always on when the vehicle is started.

That's not so hard to figure out, now is it?

Regards,
Gordon

It still resets after the IG is switched off.

Ayep, Mazda appears to consider it a safety device, and thus the default mode is Enabled every time you start a new trip. If you want to disable it, that's your prerogative, but they're not going to do it for you.

JeRKy 8 Owner 04-17-2004 02:54 AM

Doug if theyallowed you to disable it so that it stays offthe next time you turned on the car then howwould you ever be able to get it back on? Im talking about thefull disable by holding it for 10 seconds. Youd never be ableto enable it again if you needed it if they did it the wayyou are talking about.

Gordon, everytime i post question on here, which is not often, you always have to bash me for some odd reason....Why? I have never done anything to you and I'm tired of your bad attitude, show some maturity, old man.

Overport 04-17-2004 06:08 PM

Yes, i know most answers to my questions are in the manual, but i do not enjoy reading like most people, so i figure its quicker to get an answer on here.....

Genom 04-17-2004 07:32 PM

If this is quicker, youve got to expect people to give you crap over stuff thats in the manual, and no matter how much you may hate to read, you MUST READ YOUR MANUAL. How could you not? This is the only way to know everything to expect with your car. Not reading your manual cause ya dont like to read is a poor excuse IMHO.

Overport 04-17-2004 07:51 PM

yeah i know...i looked it over when i first got it, but when it comes to troubleshooting problems i like to figure things out for myself, and if i cant i go on here. I guess i just forget about the manual sometimes.:)

i don't understand how it's LESS work to read the manual (which you have less than 30 seconds away from you if you're at home) than to TYPE AND WAIT FOR AN ANSWER TO READ from the internet... seriously, it's not that big.

Baller 04-18-2004 12:17 PM

My wife say's it is pretty BIG.

RX8Lover 04-19-2004 02:19 PM

Wow, I would expect behavior like this from a newbie, but with 200+ posts, you should know better.

Basically you're saying that you took the easy way out instead of doing research first. Good. Your next question would be the clunking sound when you first move your car and not knowing its your ABS test. :p

Read your manual, and do a search before posting. Do us all a favor, really.

Ft Liquordale 04-19-2004 04:16 PM

I am unsure why you would want to default it off?

I love my DSC when I am flying around right-hand turns at 50 MPH

Because i wanted to see what it was like off in the rain.....and because i was going to do a test to see how much mpg i lost with it on all the time.
