Drive by Wire Throttle - Accelerator Pedal Question
I took out the accelerator pedal this weekend to examine it and see if there was a easy way to change the resting position of the pedal so as to raise the “idle” rpm slightly to get rid of the shudder I feel when at a stop.
Getting the unit in and out was easy, I was surprised that when to took it apart, the side housing with the wiring didn’t seem to have any connection to the rest of the pedal, in other words, I can’t figure out how it knows or measures the pedal position. Maybe there is a magnet or something I’m not seeing. At any rate, I thought I’d mention this as an avenue for potential exploitation. |
Stange! I would expect the pedal's axis of rotation to go through a rotary potentiometer with 2 tracks (#2 is for back up and diagnosis).
