I installed the SR pulleys yesterday and was wondering how tight I should keep the belts at?Is there a simple rule-of-thumb?They are pretty tight but I dont want them to tight.

Tightness is usually expressed as x amount of deflection with y amount of pressure at the midpoint of the belt. Should be in the shop manual.

The shop manual states there should be a 4.5-5.0mm deflection for the alternator belt, and 3.5-4.0mm for the AC belt, given a pressure of 98N (22lbf) at the center of the belt between the pulleys. They specify a special tool to measure the tension and deflection... but I'm sure you can find something at the autoparts store (or just wing it : ).

That link leads to a PDF file so you need Adobe Reader/Acrobat Reader on your system in order to view the page. It is slow to load, so be patient. Once the document comes up, go to page 4 and 5 for drive belt information.
