THIS IS MAZDA'S CLIMATE CONTROL

Can anyone help me out three new amp's , 1 control system, new and larger evaporator,

AND MAZDA TECH SAYS THI IS NORMAL!!!!

MDRX8 Aug 1, 2005 04:04 PM

PS 79 outside, recirc on, fan speed 3 HELP!!!!!!

JonsToy Aug 2, 2005 10:35 AM

I think we all notice that any movement of the temperature gauge off max cold results in much warmer air coming from the vents.
If I were you I'd just be happy that max cold gets you 42 degrees. I don't do much better than 50 (new amplifier, evaporator, expansion valve, same old cycling).

zoom44 Aug 2, 2005 12:37 PM

it is perfectly normal operation of the AC in the RX-8. why they changed all that for you i dont know.

MDRX8 Aug 2, 2005 03:23 PM

Try Ice 32

ATry Ice 32 .... Brought my temp down 6 degrees. can be found at firestone dealers.

MDRX8 Aug 2, 2005 04:07 PM

You might be satisfied but.....

I have invested $34,000 into my car. The A/C S----S !! I am 47 years old and have owned NEW Avalon, Tahoe, Altima, Lexus 300, several Chevy trucks, Ford Mustang, RX7, and I know I am fogetting some.

There is absolutely no reason to expect a decent A/C system! ALL  my other cars and trucks have had super A/C systems!!!!

So if want to be satisfied with a piece of C---P that is your business.

I expect better!!!!!!! And Mazda should be ashamed of the A/C.

Don't get me wrong I love my car!

dazygirl415 Aug 2, 2005 04:15 PM

I'm not trying to flame and I understand your position, but that's just the way the car is. We've all invested $30k and we all have to take the good with the bad and unfortunately, the A/C isn't great. Living in TX, I've learned tricks to help keep the car cool that's I'm willing to share and there's a DIY to help as well.

clydejmuggs Aug 2, 2005 08:06 PM

Hey..Zoom got a promotion!!

Gotta get that call in first thing in the morning. I thought it was 555-2200?

staticlag Aug 2, 2005 08:20 PM

I never use my ac. I love hot weather :)

Gomez Aug 2, 2005 09:19 PM

You guys got the aircon you paid for. I paid well over $40000USD for my car. It has no leather, no TPMS, no nav, no xenon headlamps, no fog lamps, no sunroof.

It does however come with climate control air......and it's ice cold ;) .

wedge357 Aug 2, 2005 09:40 PM

Gomez, you b@$$tard!

Gomez Aug 2, 2005 09:47 PM

Oh....and I got clear corners standard. Worth the extra 15 grand.....NOT!

clydejmuggs Aug 3, 2005 01:14 AM

We need to call the 1-800-555-2200 line to fix this issue.

This AC is killing me..

Sorry Gomez. You are out in the wind on this one.

Mine is ice cold as long as a I keep the rpm's up to at least 3k. At idle is warms up just a little and that is to be expected since the compressor isn't turning as fast.

Glyphon Aug 3, 2005 10:30 AM

mine is ice cold all the time too, even on triple digit and near triple digit days, and is like that even at idle.

i have no quantitative evidence for this, but about a week ago, after my radiator fan ran for 45 minutes one evening after getting home from work, i decided to experiment...i removed the decorative engine cover. since then i haven't heard the fan running after the car is shut off, the temp. guage reads a few ticks cooler, and the a/c is cold with 30 seconds of starting the car up.

Feras Aug 3, 2005 11:04 AM

i got into an accident that trashed the radiator so they replaced it (i guess with the new one) and now im freezing my ass off with the thing set to 2 while before i was between comfortable and slightly warm in the summer heat with it set to 3.

You call your number and I'll call mine...

I'll bet I get more satisfaction.

MDRX8 Aug 3, 2005 04:57 PM

So what is your contact?

r0tor Aug 3, 2005 06:04 PM

if you don't like, just get rid of the car - shrug-

In case you have no idea how an air conditioning system works, the system can only suck a finite amount of heat out of the air that passes over the coils. This means that the more air you blow over the coils, the warmer the air will be. This is the case your every car ever made.

PS- it was 96 degrees today and in my black car I had the fan on 2 in recirc mode and i was perfectly comfy.

You are in a US spec car? Can you say "operator error"? The knob on the drivers side has 4 detents for the fan motor. The knob on the passenger side has 16 detents for the heater. The only knob you can be turning 7 notches is the heater.

Reminds me of an old Marx brothers joke - Dr., it hurts when I do this. Dr says, don't do that.

BTW, with the a/c on and the heat off, 42 degrees is an excellent reading.

So the US car has only 4 detents for the fan? I have 7 for the fan in my Euro spec 8 and the a/c works great. I usually leave it at the 3rd setting at 19 C (66 F) driving around in this boiler room called Singapore. If the climate control didn't work I'd be raising hell, couldn't drive it otherwise! Fortunately, it's better than I expected.
