Does this matter? Broken bolt for exhaust manifold stay
While removing the transmission of my 2004 MT, I broke one of the three bolts that secures the "exhaust manifold stay," which is a like a bracket between the transmission and the exhaust manifold. The broken one is on the side where there is only a single bolt, i.e. on the exhaust manifold. I've nearly got the car back together and now I'm feeling particularly lazy...
Does this thing matter much? What would happen if I didn't drill out and replace that bolt, and just leave that part off? |
Just fix it. If you don't fix it now, you're never going to fix it. And whoever you eventually sell it to is going to be saddled with that crap.

Are you my conscience? :p

Mine was off for 9.5 of 10 years. .. Never was an issue ;-)

Fyi conscience: I went ahead and fixed it. Hope I get cosmic goodness now. :)

Good to hear! If anytime you're thinking "Oh, I'll just fix it tomorrow" I always like to reference the wise words of "What is today, but yesterday's tomorrow?
