DIY Request: Heater Ctrl Module & AC Amplifer Replacement
I need both of these replaced and I am not that great with repairs. So far I found out that the Heater Control Module is behind the radio, and the AC Amplifier is behind the steering column. Anybody have experience with replacing these parts or have links to any guides that could help me out?

If you look in the DIY sub forum you will find a thread for repairing the AC/heat control. very easy fix actually. It is quite a popular thread. I know nothing about the AC amplifier. If you feel as if you can not do the repairs yourself, you may want to consider taking it to a qualified mechanic.
To be clear about the Heater Control Module, I mean http://i.ebayimg.com/t/MAZDA-RX8-HEA...Dp!~~60_12.JPG instead of: http://i.ebayimg.com/t/2004-2005-200...4c!~~60_12.JPG |
The bottom picture is of the control module. You have to disassemble it and solder a certain section of the board, like I said pretty simple fix. Just find and read that DIY thread and all questions will be answered. As I stayed before I know nothing about the Amplifier. All I can do is surmise that it needs to be replaced, it looks like a simple plug and play once you gain access to it. I recommended a mechanic because you stated "I am not that great with repairs".

Heater Control Module=Heat Controller. These names are interchangeable for the part in the bottom picture. The top picture is actually the A/C Amplifier. Which is located behind the steering column. I was able to find it alright but it is nearly impossible to disconnect and remove. The replacement part that I actually ordered was colored black, but it was the exact same shape. |
