Different kinds of rear view mirrors?

Hellu

When I bought my car it didnt have any rear view mirror. The previous owner had rigged the car with dvdscreens and stuff all over.

So Im looking to get a new one, but kinda confused. I have a 06 with no navi or anything. And when I google and whatnot I only find pictures and instructions of mirrors with Homelink.

Can someone explain to me the different kind of rear view mirrors the rx8 comes with? And are these interchangeable? So if I want autodim, like I see many have. Can I get that?

Links with pictures would help me out alot

Well you can either try and find an OEM one, and your best bet is to go to a salvage yard to try and snag one for cheap, or look at one of the gentex parts specifically the gentex homelink mirrors :

There is a DIY on here of someone who managed to fit one of the gentex parts with minimal work. If you want OEM without auto dim try sending the guys over at mazmart a pm they may have some laying around.

So there is two kind of mirrors? One OEM with autodim, and one with that and Homelink?
