Difference in Exhaust.

What is the main difference in the design with the Borla having one muffler and something like AP catback with two seperate mufflers?

Does the sound and performance change??

Thanks

On the RX8 all of the cat backs deliver the same performance gains as the stock exhaust. Choose the exhaust that sounds the best to you! Best thing to do is to attend a meet and listen to some of the systems on other member's cars.

Just muffler design. I would assume a larger chamber would allow it to have a deeper note, but that wouldn't be the only factor.

borla sounds really great, but due to the design, I got more soot and more flames out of one side than the other. So design wise, I prefer two cans with a Y split.

So would the single can be deeper than the dual cans? or vice versa since there isn't really much of a performance difference than the two types of design.

thanks

well, with the borla vs hks or greddy, borla is the deeper of them... so in this case the larger can appears to have a deeper note. If can size really defines how deep the note is, I cannot say.

i believe that size of the piping effects the sound too
