Difference between clutch pedal FE05-41-300A and FE05-41-300C?
Hi all,
So, my clutch pedal assembly in my '05 RX-8 broke last week, even though it was replaced (after it broke last time) in March 2016. Didn't even make it 1.5 years. It's apparently the FE05-41-300C model that broke. The first time the pedal broke (during my ownership of this car), the pedal that was in there was apparently FE05-41-300A. So in March 2016 when it broke they put in a FE05-41-300C. What's the difference? The dealership is telling me it was an improved model, but I can't find information on whether that's actually the improved model or not. Considering how unbelievably soon it has broken (what the hell?!), not to mention it looks exactly the same, I really have to wonder what so-called improvements were made. Seriously unimpressed with how many times my car has been rendered inoperable by the failure of a component that should outlast the life of the car... |
They did not improve the pedal because I had an R3 pedal that had cracked welds on it. I had it welded and replaced my failed 2004 clutch pedal with it.

Get the new one welded before you install it.
That said, I still have my original clutch pedal on my 2005. I go through transmissions the way other people go through clutch pedals though. |
Mine was started to squeak around 140k, not too bad. $20.00 to get the R3 one welded though, it should outlast the car.
