Rotary better than Cylinder?

I recently sold my 03 VW GTI 20th Anniversary Edition and just bought an 04 Titanium Grey RX-8. I am very happy with the car and love the attention i get from it. The ride and feel of the car is amazing. But being new to a rotary motor i just wanted to know is it much more stronger than a cylinder motor. Can the Rotary motor take alot more beating and high reving than to a cylinder motor? I know i have alot to learn, so i gotta start learning now.

And one other dissapointing thing i was told about after i bought my car, is that our 8's is that after say 30, or 40,000 miles on the car, the tranny is most likely to go. Is this true? If so, i'm really not looking forward to this. Please share you comments, thanks.

I am approaching 40K miles and have been using a 55 shot of nitrous since about 8K miles. Never any trouble with the trans and it still shifts fine. Look for the video.

well to give you an idea :D...a rotary race care needs its engine rebuilt every year compared to a similarly used vehicle that is cylinder/piston the engine is rebuilt after every other race

The beauty of the rotary engine and the Renesis rotary specifically is its high reving nature...after the initial 1000mile break in you can run it up to 9000k as much as you want just make sure you have oil.

Personally I rev to atleast 9000 everyday sometimes multiple times in a day...
