DCS blinking, and car swerving light

My moms car is at it again. She said the dcs light was blinking, and the car serve icon was lit up. I went the check it out, tried to start the car and it barley started. I went to autozone to buy a new battery and she cranks up fine. Hopefully it lasts like that. But when i turn the car on, the lights are still on and blinking. What does this mean. I have a feeling the battery is going to die again. Please help me out.

Try the DSC reset procedure that is in the manual.

Sorry stupid question, but should the battery be disconnected when i do this, or connected

Disconnecting the battery caused this condition in the first place. when the computers loose power they need to be re calibrated. I don't know of any computers that work without power, and I don't know of many power sources in a car.... Take a guess.

OK... I have a question... This happened to me last night....

If I didn't disconnect the battery to begin with, what caused this?

^Thank you Swoope and those that have responded. My apologies Swoope for seeing you Sat at Palooza and not thanking you personally.

I did check the battery... It seems they are super tight, but I did notice some corrosion. I also had two episodes of my car not turning on... I recall the dealer telling me I had a dead cell.... So it may just bee a combo of that and the corrosion lacking it's contact and making it act funny to the point of not starting.

I'm assuming it's time for a new battery!! I'm hoping that's all it needs.

mmm, i've gotten that issue from time to time, just bought a new optima yellow top so hopefully that cures it, any tips on how to clean the leads or connectors? thanks!

^Baking soda or Coca Cola.
