Crankcase additive help

I bought a "stop leak and smoke" additive for my engine to hopefully stop a leak/burning of oil in my 2004 Mazda RX-8. It says to add this to the crankcase. The problem is, I don't know where the crankcase is on the '04 mazda rx-8 and am having trouble finding help on the internet.

This just made me lawlz. Your engine will always burn oil...

Look, I don't know anything about the engine. But what I do know is the dealship wants $5,000 to replace it even though they should be replacing it for free. So I am trying this, it's cheaper. Do I just mix it right in with the oil ? HELPFUL information is good

It is burning 4 quarts within a week. I was told by a friend that the seals might be messed up and it's leaking into the combustion chamber instead of just being injected into it, causing the oil to burn rapidly. But thanks for the mature response.

How much oil is it burning? How many miles are on the car? How many miles do you drive a week?

There are about 104,000 miles on the car. About 14,000 miles on the engine that they replaced my old one with already. It is burning almost 4 quarts within a week. And I drive maybe 100-200 miles a week, pending.

Wow!! Definitely not normal. Possible oil seals. You might have to look into a new engine. I'm sure alot of the rotary guru's will chime in here with some more insight on what exactly could be going on. If you determine the engine is toast, either get it rebuilt, or experiment that that sealant (not recommended)

Only 14,000 miles on the engine and it's burning through THAT much oil? I would return to whomever did it and raise a little hell. But not enough to where they don't want to help you
