couch foam around radiator?
can i use the innards of an old couch or this desk chair to insulate the radiator?

That stuff might fall apart pretty quickly under heat, but otherwise, why not.

I was thinking to wrap it in that muffler metallic tape first and then dbl side taping it to the radiator or chasis

Is insulation foam hard to find where you are? Like why jerry rig something when there's a cheap simple way to do it properly?

I used the biggest version of that stuff that I could find on the shelves of my Homeless Despot. Cut it in half lengthwise then cut to appropriate lengths for top, bottom and left sides of radiator. Affixed with 3M Super 90 spray glue. Used an extra layer where I needed more girthiness to fill a gap ( :naughty: ). Also used zip ties to secure the trailing edge of the undertray to the bottom of the radiator. |
