Please PM a copy of the manual link to me. Thank you in advance and I appreciate your assistance.

Nubo 10-07-2005 07:13 PM

Rumor has it that you can actually *buy* the workshop manual... All printed up... :rolleyes:

You spent big bucks on the car -- why steal the manual?

you are kidding right Nub?

we bought a 30k car and don't get a real service manual...just a petty dummy manual

the PDF version is much much better as you can search through it and it is easier to print out individual pages...you save a LOT of paper doing so

it is a fucking insult that Mazda doesn't offer it to us upon purchase...atleast in a digital format

csaltkill 10-07-2005 11:17 PM

Please send me the link

I could use the link. Please

RX8 XTC 10-08-2005 04:42 AM

I'm talking about the actual shop manual and wiring manuals, which are available from Mazda.

http://www.finishlineperformance.com/rx8/wsm.jpg

They're not free. But as you point out, we bought a 30k car -- so why not pay the price for the workshop manuals? I don't see why they should offer them for free -- they cost money to produce. I've never had a Mfr offer the service manuals for free; I'm just glad they make them available to the customer at all.

I don't find it particularly difficult to search through the service manual. It is well indexed, and boots up in less than 1 second :D

it isn't like people are stealing the paper version...it is a digital copy identical in almost everyway (except the paper part ;))

we are saving paper btw :D

Because I already paid big bucks for the car, and should have come with a full service manual all printed up. Oh, and an unlocked ECU.

silvercloud 10-09-2005 07:30 AM

I would like the link to the service manual .

I would actually buy a PDF copy of the service manual. I hate digging through books.

excerpt:
To increase the size of the left side menu first open the index.html file, then go up to "the menu bar and click VIEW -> SOURCE. A text editor window pops up and you "can make the change by going halfway down to the section that has:
scrolling="no" noresize marginheight="5" marginwidth="5">
<frameset cols="250,*" border="0" framespacing="0">
<frameset rows="60,*" frameborder="no" framespacing="0">
<frame name="srvc_menu"

change the frameset cols="250,*" to something larger. You only need to change the number, save it close the window and then refresh and the menu will have changed.

Or you could just put your cursor on the dividing line between sections and move it.

Mr.Wankel 10-16-2005 05:00 PM

I would like the link also. Thanks.

SC-ed 10-16-2005 07:15 PM

It's back online. Hurry up!!!

willhave8 10-16-2005 08:34 PM

True Magellen rocks :cool:

TeamRX8 10-16-2005 08:43 PM

the manual has been available from another source in a thread link on this site for long time, but the info is old and now partically inaccurate due to edits and revisions by Mazda, the newer your RX-8 is the less likely the online manual is likely to be accurate

Rotary Rasp 10-16-2005 09:52 PM

how come my rx8 shop manual is 120mb and this one is only 26mb?

mine is also 1300 pages

downshift 10-17-2005 10:05 AM

Wow, I just downloaded the manual and opened it up. It pretty much has the same content as the service manual that truemagellan has the link to, except that it has a sleeker navigation bar on the left (requires ActiveX). Thanks for the great find!

bullshit, do you work for Mazda? :rolleyes:

For 95% of tasks or more this is reliable info...

-taking the car apart, any possible piece really hasn't changed much
-torque settings have remained the same on almost every piece of the car except the rims (90lbs switched to 110lbs I prefer 100lbs)
-removing the overhead console, the DIYs on the forum are much better...in fact I like to review both the forum DIYs and the service manual before tacking any task

Most of what guys want this manual for is so they can run wires for a sub, or info on swapping the exhaust, or how to remove calipers, or whatever...they aren't using it to take the engine apart, port and polish

Everyone deserves this manual, period.
