Cold running behavior - A/T
Hello everyone,
I live in Cincinnati and the weather has gotten a bit colder. I've noticed that after starting the car, backing out of the garage/driveway, and applying the throttle for the first time or two that the engine RPM dips significantly (slightly below idle), then comes back to a normal level. I was wondering if anyone else (particularly A/T owners) have noticed this? This behavior goes away as the engine warms up. Thanks! |
I've noticed my car is running "stuttery" for the first few minutes. I also attribute this to the colder weather. Its fine when warm, even if I go back out and start it in the garage a few hours later after having previously driven it. Doesn't seem a big deal...

Cold start in Belgium
Hi,
In Belgium at this moment it is cold (around 2°C) and VERY wet. I always rev my RX8 up to 3-4K before shutting down and I never had any problem starting it. The car is stalled outside, under a carport, so not in a garage. I must say I have to let it run for a few seconds (5) before taking off. In that time it is running smouthly. regards, Patrick |
