Cobb AccessPort Swap
Im pretty new to rx8 tuning and not an expert on the accessport but i just had a simple yes or no question for you guys. i know the accessport uploads a new map for onto the ECU and changes fuel injection, rev limiter...., and the whole nine.
My question: is the accessport itself, the hand held device which uploads the maps, by any chance compatible with different vehicles by just uploading the vehicle specfic map? ....its a long shot by my buddys got an accessport for his WRX and that would be fantastic on my bank account if i could upload the RX8 map using his handheld |
I seriously doubt it would work, but I do know that it marries itself to the vehicle. You couldn't just have the map flashed onto your car and then give it back to your friend and expect it to work on his too. It can only be installed on 1 vehicle at a time.

They are not compatible.

Hope this helps |
totally work it, above mentioned along with more injections of oil into enngine, which just became a local recall, if u ever go turbo it still works, if u ever pull a cel, it can give u the code, everytime u go to check a code at dealer its 100+ if ur not under warranty, just to check a damn code. SO totally worth it, expensive at first, but in my books, the best bang for buck mods are the ignition, the cobb, and the midpipe. And if you do go catless, expect better mileage with the coupling of the cobb

yeah, it seems like its a good investment
thanks for your help guys i need to go read up on it now |
