Got a Mazda recall letter today (10/26/10) for the clutch bracket... anyone else? My clutch creaks like crazy, but I think it is just that noisy clutch cut switch (TSB 05-011/06). My bracket seems perfectly OK.

Well then bring it in and let them check it out.

Don't think so ole' Razz buddy, I avoid the dealership like the plague... if something catastrophic happens, I've got the letter, but I just don't trust the service centers here in Tucson.
Anyways, included in the packet there is a whole other letter about getting re-reimbursement for previously paid clutch repairs, but I don't know if that will cover 3rd party clutch bracket mods/assemblies. I wonder how many guys paid $300+ for an aftermarket clutch bracket? Mazda is a little late on this one I think. |

Sounds like a good plan to me.... if I have problems with the bracket (none so far at 80,000 miles this week), RaceRoots will get a call...

I had my clutch pedal assembly crack and I had the problem where it wouldn't go into gear. I had friend weld the clutch pedal assembly back together but now the tranny it will grind and not go into gear when rolling at any speed and trying to shift into first gear and when trying to shift into second over 30mph it won't go in. You think something is not aligned correctly with the clutch pedal assembly?
|
possibly...if it didn't do it before you welded the pedal and it did it after without any other changes....logic dictates you look there first :)

sounds like you are not getting enough travel on the slave cylinder for whatever reason.

/\ when you have the gearbox in gear and the clutch in - does the engine start to stumble and car want to go forward ? If so then your clutch is not disengaging fully most likely due to one of the reasons above .
Read the manual on clutch pedal adjustment ...... |
