Chemical / Chlorine smell in cabin
Over the last two weeks I've noticed a very odd and strong chemical smell in my cabin. It smells like chlorine or asthma inhaler medicine was spilled in the car and it occurs whether the car is running or not.
Nothing at all has been spilled in the car, however, and all of the engine fluid levels are ok. I'm wondering if there is something in the cabin that could be leaking and causing the odor. Any ideas? |
A small leak in the heater core perhaps, or mildew in the HVAC duct work. Try changing the cabin filter and see if it persists.

I believe a leak in the heater core would smell like anti-freeze, right? This doesn't have that sweet smell. I will definitely try changing the cabin filter.
