can anyone tell me if it is normal for the CEL to blink before starting... coz last night my CEL turned on and my gas cap was loose... so i tighten it up... but CEL is still on, got home.. took off the negative from d battery, put it back on... CEL went off... but wen i turn the ignition key to on position, it will show d CEL light in solid(w/c is normal).... then after awhile... maybe 16-20 seconds AFTER the beep beep sound(airbag or whatever alert sound) the CEL will blink.... that's my problem... is that normal? but when i start the car, CEL will turn off...

 

don't worry, I'm pretty sure that's normal.

I've noticed mine blinks(awhile ago I noticed it!...) no problems here...you're fine unless it starts blinking while you're driving...most likely just doing a system check...

 

aryt... tnx guys.. im just worried, coz it might hav been a coinsidence that d gas cap is lloose and actual problemsx arises...

 

^should be good....if cap was loose a constant/steady CEL while started willl appear...but not a big deal...

 

mine is on too but i might go to auto zone to gt a ODB check...
