cat /air pump delete
Those running catless n/a who has removed the air pump? Have you had any issues?
|
Just removed mine this weekend and put racing beats cover plate over the manifold. No issues at least for the past 2 days. Now my question is why bring it up? Are you having issues?
|
sort of want to remove mine also, as it barely works
|
No issues except a CEL ;)
and smelly exhaust :) |

The backing plate is easy to install with good socket extensions. Read down and Team gives a rough explenation how it is done easily. Took all of 15 minutes to remove everything. I left all the wire harnesses in place or zip tied them down. |
thanks thats the thread i was looking for

😁😁😁😁
Sorry to reopen this thread back up but is there anywhere you can still get the little plates to cover up the ports ive looked everywhere and searched racing beat up and down and still can't find one . Anyone know where I can get one ?

I have searched to no avail.
Resurrecting this thread in lieu of being roasted for starting one about this but.. here goes:
Just had racing beat headers installed by mechanic. Would of done it myself but a lift makes it a lot less painful ( have to take motor mount off etc). Anyhow got a BHR Midpipe and racing beat catback exhaust with Versa Tuner lite tune on it and a code for the cat disabled. So I didn’t have the mechanic touch the air pump. I have to reinstall the cat and re-flash the stock tune for emissions every two years. Now will it hurt to run my car with the air pump without a catalytic converter? (Maybe melt the resonator material in the Midpipe?). Any performance loss by doing so? I’d prefer to leave it since it’s one less headache when swapping the Midpipe back for stock cat for emissions. - Thanks in advance |
no the air pump is there for cold starts to warm the cat of some shit, you will be fine. you can unplug it if you want
|
You can leave the secondary air injection pump as well as the pipe which connects it to the header in place without any consequences.
