have you checked your battery? What exactly is the sound being made? A full crank, slow and weak crank? Need more info bro.
yea battery is fine and so are the connections... cleaned them to be safe... as far as i know and it cranks strong like it wants to start...
coils?
really...they were saying it might be the fuel filter or i flooded it...
and by they i mean people i know...not mechanics so help a brother out still lol
oh that's right.. so long since I read a post of someone flooding their car.. so that is what it could be.. try the process in the owner's manual for deflooding.
i will but anymore ideas people i can try tom?
well, have you tried getting it pushed and starting it? Sounds stupid but sometimes it needs it. Flooded is a great possibility though.
did the car run before you changed the plugs and wires?
yea but it was very bogged down and would cut off but after i fixed them it was fine... that was this last summer/fall...I didnt drive it much when I figured out something was wrong... my 8 hates me
if it didnt want to start a few times before, like took a few seconds could it really be flooded...i thought that happened all at once...I really dont wanna deflood unless its nec.
Yes...............de-flood it!
Make sure your wires are correct and on tight. Did they snap on? If not push a little harder. https://www.rx8club.com/attachment.p...4&d=1229395725 |
flooded....
dum dum dum! :) j/k seriously though, I think I had a few close calls on that after it didn't want to crank, got it after 5 or 6 seconds though.
flooded maybe???
today was the first time i shut if off cold as hell back it out of a parking spot maybe started 10 seconds and it didnt' flood but was running rich as hell i'll tell u that !
^.............Almost! :lol2:

Just 2 days ago I accidentally turned the car off when it was 9f out.. windchill was below zero. The water temp was at 30f when it went off.
Car started up in less than 2 cranks. ;) |
Make sure you put the leading plugs and trailing plugs in the right holes. Also, like stated above, make sure the wires are on the correct spark plug/coil. If it's a MT, you may need to have someone give you a tow around the block to get it started, a simple push may not work since it's flooded. I say its flooded since you tried to start it multiple times and it didnt start. There are multiple threads on deflooding your engine.
Make sure you have gas in the tank. If you have gas in the tank, did your GF/mom pump it for you? Maybe the filled it with diesel :) |
or kerosene!
