REVI with REV8, MAF screen is being sucked toward the front of the car not toward the back; (i.e. doesn't look like something hit it from the intake side, but something from the engine side :dunno:

same thing happened to me and another guy on stock intake - never got to the bottom of it . I just run nekkid now :)

Simple physics, my dear Polak.....

You put the bottom of the other tube in a little too far and sliced the bottom of the mesh screen out, nice and clean. Elementary!

Maybe, I purposefully didn't put it too far in as I didn't want it to touch the screen, think the engine could possibly shift about .25'' under heavy braking, or some other activity?

you've never heard the phase "hinder a guess"?

hinder
adj : located at or near the back of an animal; "back (or hind)
legs"; "the hinder part of a carcass" [syn: back,
hind, hinder]
v 1: be a hindrance or obstacle to; "She is impeding the progress
of our project" [syn: impede]
2: hinder or prevent the progress or accomplishment of; "His
brother blocked him at every turn" [syn: obstruct, blockade,
block, stymie, stymy, embarrass]
3: put at a disadvantage; "The brace I have to wear is
hindering my movements" [syn: handicap, hamper]

I think you actually mean "Hazard a guess" as in take a chance at guessing?

PoLaK 06-14-2008 04:53 PM

I'm not going to argue this one as I have a history of problems remembering phrases; for example:

I thought "turning a new league" when in fact its "turning a new leaf"
I thought "it's a half ass ford and i'm shifting gear" when in fact its "it's half past four and i'm shifting gear" (golden earing radar love)

The list is long and distinguished and probably hysterical, but to save what dignity i have left i'll stop.

It's "tender a guess"

tender

verb [ trans. ]

offer or present (something) formally : he tendered his resignation as leader.
• offer (money) as payment : she tendered her fare.
• [ intrans. ] make a formal written offer to carry out work, supply goods, or buy land, shares, or another asset for a stated fixed price : firms of interior decorators have been tendering for the work.
• [ trans. ] make such an offer giving (a stated fixed price) : what price should we tender for a contract?
Or possibly you were thinking of "hazard a guess"

hazard

noun
1 a danger or risk : the hazards of smoking.
• a potential source of danger : a fire hazard | a health hazard.
• a permanent feature of a golf course that presents an obstruction to playing a shot, such as a bunker or stream.
2 poetic/literary chance; probability.
3 a gambling game using two dice, in which the chances are complicated by arbitrary rules.

verb [ trans. ]
1 venture to say (something) : he hazarded a guess.
2 put (something) at risk of being lost : the cargo business is too risky to hazard money on.

No idea what's wrong with your intake screen. :)
