Bodywork repair and rock chips...
Being the 3rd day of owning it, and cruising on the highway.. a rock came out of no where and SLAMMED into the right-rear-passenger door. The holes it left, are pretty small, and they're white.. so they dug pretty deep I would assume..
I have no idea what options I have (since i own motorcycles) with cars, I assume just a full new door (fuck that), or touch up paint? How good is it? Are there any other options? thanks guys. |
take it to a paint shop specializing in restorations. They can air brush the chip and buff it out with the least amount of paint with little chance of overspray. It's also a lot cheaper than letting a dealer body shop mess with it.

Search the board for Langka. They make a kit that you can buy (about $40 I think) that will work with the Mazda touch up paint (you have to buy that from the dealer) to repair those chips. I've got the kit and I have tried it once. Worked very well, but I have to redo the spot to make it perfect.
It doesn't hurt the original paint and makes the spot totally like new when you are done. Much cheaper than a repair shop, new door, etc!!!! |
