bleeding problem

New master and slave cylinder
I also bought a speedbleeder

I bled the clutch line until I see no more air bubbles through the plastic hose....

After 1-2 pumps, the pedal come back by itself! wow i as so happy..
unfortunately, after 10-15 pumps, it stuck to the floor......
I have to pull it up with my hand, pump few times and it get back some pressure....

but when i press the pedal to the floor and I wait there for a while, the pedal do not come back by itself
If I press the clutch pedal normally, it will come back up....but i dont feel enough resistance

what can be the reason?
I also ran out of fluid in the reservoir one time. while bleeding....big bubble stuck in the master cylinder??

why would you want speedbleeder in the first place?

unless your new Master/slave have a leak somewhere. Just put regular bleeder back and u will have no problems. this is coming from a guy that has replaced the master AND slave on his own.

so my problem would be the speedbleeder screw?

nycgps 11-07-2010 08:51 AM

a lot of times, yes.

Yes. You will have to bench-bleed the master again.

Absolutely not. Speed Bleeders are never the problem. I use a dozen of them and never had a failure. If in-doubt, they can be used exactly like normal bleeders.

I agree with the bench bleeding..

Razz1 11-07-2010 11:26 AM

Bleed time again.........

dannobre 11-07-2010 11:36 AM

You basically have to start again after you sucked in air from letting the reservoir go empty.

Keep it full..and it will bleed fine :)

chabinator 11-07-2010 01:43 PM

could there be bubbles stuck in the slave cylinder too?

dannobre 11-07-2010 02:59 PM

They will come out...just keep bleeding it till the pedal is normal :)

Usually no. Normal bleeding will clear those pretty easy. The master is the bitch. Over the years I've found that using a bit of violence on the pedal (push it fast and hard) helps clears the air out. Just do not let the reservoir go below the minimum line or you risk sucking air and have to start all over again!

chabinator 11-08-2010 05:37 PM

So I have to remove the master cylinder or not?

Is it possible to bleed the master cylinder from the its screw?

You said use some violence on the clutch pedal...but would that work with a speedbleeder?

with speedbleeder:
-if I push-pull slowly the pedal, some bubbles appear and after a while no more bubbles
-If I push-pull rapidly, many little bubbles comes out in the hose, and it seems there is no end to these bubbles....

chabinator 11-08-2010 11:27 PM

im gonna remove the master cylinder tomorrow and bleed it.....put it back and bleed with the speedbleeder

if it doesn't work, im gonna put back the original bleeding screw and bleed it...

if it doesnt't work, FML and im going to stealership

Not necessary. "Bench-bleeding" is a process, not a location. :) It just means you have a short hose going from the outlet back into the reservoir. You can do the bench-bleed procedure in the car.

Again, not necessary. When closed, there is no difference between a traditional bleeder screw and a Speed Bleeder. If you think it's the problem, just use it like a traditional bleeder.

If you were local, I'd be willing to help. Bleeding sometimes just takes a lot of patience and brake fluid... Good luck!

Tried and tried and tried and now fuking tired
it doesnt work

How much clearance does the clutch pedal push rod have , where it fits into the rear of the master cylinder ?

Razz1 11-12-2010 01:47 PM

I think the secret is you need to remove the MS and bench bleed it.
