Bg 44k
Well, my 8 has almost 39,000 miles on it. Before I put my agency power pulley on, and exhaust I decided to try to gain power back and/or go to the dealer to check compression to see if I needed a new engine etc. I have long been a fan of picking up some Oil Filters from Rosenthal Mazda in Virginia. They are great people. Ordered and shipped and recieved within 3 days.
I went through there website. Picked up the Zoom Power Clean, to attempt a nice clean out before I do some more engine modifications. I came across this product BG 44K. It is $20.00 and figured I'm already ordering something, why not try it. The product claims "BG 44K® Power Enhancer® safely, rapidly and thoroughly removes engine deposits in combustion chambers, intake manifolds, ports and on valves. It restores flow in fuel injectors and cleans the entire fuel system. BG 44K® Power Enhancer® improves fuel economy and reduces exhaust emissions. It restores that “like new” driveability to an engine’s performance and keeps it running better, longer and more efficiently. Add one can or bottle to fuel tank at fill up. Catalytic converter and oxygen sensor safe." I added this to a FULL tank of gas, on saturday. I have only gotten about 40 miles, but I feel the car running very smooth. A bit more peep in my step. I plan to finish off this tank of gas and probably another tank. To let the BG 44K get fully outta the tank. Then do Zoom Power Clean (backup, whats the harm?). Then do an oil change:):) Here is the item on Finish Line/Rosenthal Mazda's website Under RX-8... Engine....BG 44K http://finishlineperformance.com/sto...cat=338&page=1 -Scott |
BG 44k is a very good cleaner but lacks lubricity, I use Lube Control FP plus. Its a very good cleaner and also provides lubricity.
|
I like to use bg44k every 10-15k miles

yup that works too
|
i usually get about a 1mpg gain in mixed driving on the tank after the tank with BG44K added.
|
I'm not saying it was a huge amount of gains. But I feel a bit of power gains. Fuel economy seems to be better by a mile or so. Nothing like OMGAGEOGJESOH!!!
Just spreading the recommendation for good product! |
Nice to see your satisfied. I may have to try this one day.
|
read up on this product, just added it to my tank today
i'll post on results soon. in the mean time, anyone else love this product? |
BG44k is the stuff... I usually run it in a full tank after an oil change...so about every couple of months...

i am thinking about sea foaming before i tune up (plugs, ignitions fluids etc..) |
The Seafoaming did the trick for my rough idle and hesitation. I would recommend doing this before your tune up. I had never done it and I have 60K on my motor replacement and I plan to do it at least once a year. BG 44k is good for the fuel path but the decarb is the only way to truly clean the combustion chambers.

i use BG44K every other oil change...... i like it
|
So just add Bg44k and don't hv to add anything else?
|
get yourself a bottle of non-marine 2 stroke, 4oz per fill up. Start there. and while you are on that regimen do some searching.
|
I have a 2004 GT MT with 82,xxx miles. Is there a problem with using 44K at this point if the car has never had a cleaner in it before?
