Best way to correct front Iorn from cracking
 

I have heard of some cracked front irons that have come about in boosted platforms. What I would like to know if dowel pinning or studding is best. What really causes it and the positive and negatives of both. On a side note I'd also like to know what causes pressure to build up in the crank case, what does it cause and how to stop it.
