HEADLIGHT ALIGNMENT question

When I'm driving along at night with headlights on (low beam) on a fairly level road, I notice that I have a "jump" in the center of my car in the horizontal line given off by the headlights. It appears to be approx 1-2 inches higher on right side than left.

does this mean that I need my light alignment checked? If so, can I do this or does it have to go to the dealer?

From what I hear, if you have the HID's then this is normal as not to blind oncoming traffic.

This is normal and has been discussed in other threads. Every car is set up this way so no you are not out of spec.
