Anybody replaced REVERSE SWITCH recently?

Looks like my reverse lights are not working, checked fuse, bulb etc was told by dealer reverse switch is rusty and need to be replaced.

Should I try to clean it to see if that works?
Plus I ordered "BACK-UP" switch from onlinemazdaparts.com and they sent me park neutral switch.
They should have black connectors(reverse switch) but since what they sent me has white connectors, I'm pretty sure it's neutral switch. lol

What's the part # for reverse switch? So I can get the right part if I need one.
Anybody replaced it recently???

Go post in this thread and Ash8 will probably get you the part numbers.

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...hlight=numbers

Then....go search and see if there is a DIY on it. Use Advanced search and put in reverse switch, or you can now look at the bottom of this page at "Similar Threads" and find https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-do-yourself-forum-73/diy-test-neutral-reverse-switch-200453/ That might get you started.

I'm too frustrated from a long ass day at work to really do any more at the moment.

Neutral and reverse switch are now the same part, but be advised that the reverse position has a washer under it and neutral does not. Put the washer in on neutral and you'll get a cel. It's easy to check the switch with a multimeter. It's just a basic spring-loaded ball contact switch.

Thanks man, there was diy for testing both switches. But since dealer told me it's bad, I'll replace it anyway.

So they are exactly identical except the washer?
I'll be replacing it this weekend. Once again, thanks for the tip.

make sure to do a DIY when you replace it... there's not one here floating around yet.
