LOL... from reading the title I had the feeling you were trapped behind the steering wheel asking your wife to Post a call for help.
Seriously, the connectors under your seat should be the only problem, unless you did something besides the seat change. |
hmmmz .,.. maybe you bought seats without air bags ?
|
It is flashing a code that tells you which airbag is not working. Please verify the flash sequence and someone with access to a manual can tell you what's wrong.
|
connectors all pluged in because i was testing the seats if they Were heating or not.
Here is the flash sequence thier is 2 Secends Puse in between eatch Flash Number (( 2 flashes )) 2 second Puse (( 3 flahes )) 2 second puse (( 2 Flashes )) 2 second puse (( 3 flashes )) 2 second puse (( 2 flashes )) 2 second puse (( 3 flashes )) 2 second puse (( 2 flashes )) 2 second puse (( 3 flashes )) 2 second puse (( 2 flashes )) 2 second puse (( 3 flashes )) 2 second puse and then Solied Light air bag stayes on , that Means it flashed 10 times in total (( 2 flashs 5 times )) (( 3 flashes 5 times )) |
That code is for passenger-side side air bag.
Code definition: Passenger-side side air bag module circuit short to power supply. Passenger-side side air bag module circuit short to body ground. Passenger-side side air bag module circuit resistance high. Passenger-side side air bag module circuit resistance low. I would R&R the passenger seat and triple check the connections. |
Crap !!! so i guess their is NO air bag in their after all huh ?? would i be Abel to put one in their if its not their ??
|
Um... probably not preferred. The best thing to do (if you wanted that air bag) is to find a seat that has an airbag in it. If that isn't possible, you will have to find a way to make the sensor think there is... I'll look at the wiring and let you know what I find.
|
Look on the side bolster of the seat..If there is a bag in there it will say "SRS Airbag" on the plastic piece.
|
well yeah it dose say thier is an SRS airbag on the plastic thing Now my guess is thier isent one thier so i might just take the Air bags out of the old seats and put em on the New one's or is that goning to be hard to do ??
|
Ok..
There are two connectors per seat..One is white for the basic crap like heaters. The other is Yellow..all the Yellow connectors are dedicated SAS system connectors. Check and see if one yellow per seat is plugged in. They are kind of hard to snap together. Good luck |
ditch the seats all together since there's no airbags anyway and get a mazdaspeed one :p
but hmmm why wouldn't there be airbags inside? Unless they deployed? Did you get the seats from a wrecked 8? Careful if you're gonna move the airbags from your old seats to new one cause you don't want to make any mistakes |

i do have extra air bags seats its just i thought it had them already or they did not go off but looks like they have being taken out since i just opened them and their was nothing in their its only the passenger air bag is missing ill just pull it out of the other seats and problem solved :-D
Snap-on ur the man you know what am talking about LOL and some other's that know that too thanks alot for ur help guy's :) HOP the air bags dont blow on me LOL |
hold on why do you want them anyways? I was in a pretty bad crash before ... they didn't inflate .... the front and front passenger were the only ones that inflated ... this was a side'ish impact too ..

the air Bags will not inflate if it was not hit on one of the DOORS i think the censor are seat between the front door and the rear door their for it dose not trigger them to go off ..well that's what i think it dose  The reason i want them i want to be safe about people who are riding with me + if i did get in to an accident and they found out the air bag was removed and it has its original seats it wont be easy Ex planing why it didn't go off. |
what ?
|
[QUOTE=cgrx]what ?[/QUOTE
LOL Guys these air bags are not toys..they will explode with DYNAMIC FORCE.. Dealers have the tools you need to remove and install them safely. Dealers are ask to deploy the bag if they set a code..They explode with the force of a shotgun..they will fly 50 feet in the air if not restrained. If you insist on doing this yourself..unhook the battery and discharge the voltage by leaving the battery unhooked for at least 5 mins.. |

ok i just have pulled out the side air bag out and it dose not look like it did GO off i mean the wire from the Inside was D/c and i cant tell really if it did go off, by the looks of it it didn't because you can see the air bag itself in side still raped up
here is some PIx i just took.. |
well i did it and nothing happend and the air bags are working and did not go off i was scerd that they woulde itd judt the wire was unpluged thats all it was.

as for the airbags thing- just for future reference. It doesn't take a large electrical charge to set off the airbag sensors- basically walking across a carpet with socks is enough. If anyone ever plays around/works on the airbags themselves- be very careful. I know of a few instances of people getting their neck broken and killed doing stuff. Just because the battery is disconnected does not mean a thing. One of the training classes I've gone through a few times tells teh story of an insurance adjuster that was killed when a curtain air bag deployed as he was leaning into a car that had crashed a while ago to check on the mileage |
Good point Reaper Man,
I remember one Tech YEARS ago that tried to check a bag with a multimeter.. The end results were not plesant. |

WELL thanks for telling me that now guys LOL but its all good :)
|
The power circut, confiiguration management check- for the bags, has to be re-set- this can only be done by a Mazda dealer. This is make certain, that if the car was ever in a wreck, and the bags where replaced, that the entire sysytem, is eletrically compliant- it was required of all OEMs as part of the leglislation in the 94 congress mandates for Airbags. Your power supply from sensor to pyro-module, was or is interupted, this info is now stored in the computer- this is how we can tell, when you trade if the bgs where ever deployed.

My Airbag light is flashing on start up as well, just 3 times repeating and then solid.
Anyone with a shop manual that can help me out? |
check the harnesses under the seats first, then check the connections on the airbag control module behind the radio.
|
disconnected and reconnected the connections under the seats and the one behind the glove box.
Harness was updated as part of the recall, not sure what else to try. Any suggestions? |
not talking about the one behind the glovebox..
There is a control module behind the radio. Take the dash apart, take the radio out (dont forget the security bolt), and wiggle those wires around. |
