After she sits in cold weather?

I did a quick search on this and came up with nothing. I was hoping that maybe one of you could help me out. I've had my 8 for a little over a month now, bought her as a dealer demo (not sure if that could be my problem). Its been fairly cold since i got her, and when i am pulling out of my driveway and up the street, i hear a strange noises that sounds a lot like mud or dirt falling off of the car, almost like i just got done going mudding (which i obviously dont do in my 8). After about a mile the noise stops. I dont hear the noise unless she has sat over night, which is typically in the garage.

Has anyone else noticed this noise? Could it be a problem or just my imagination?
Could this be caused by cold weather (even though it typically has only gotten into the 20s at night here)?

I'm going to the dealer on saturday to get the brakes replaced. I'm going to bring the issue up with them. Basically i'm just wondering if anyone has had this issue. Thanks.

Do a search of the forum for ABS and I think you will see that this is a normal sound having to do with the initial setup (don't remember the technical term) of the ABS brakes when first starting out.

True, but for the first MILE? I get one clunk in the morning and it's done.

Rust on the rotors? Flatspotted tires?

Oops, missed the mile thing. Best to take it in and have the dealer take a look. Of course, if it goes away in a mile you won't be able to demonstrate the noise.

Heel mentions a good possibility--rust on the rotors. If you drive the car in snow/slush/rain then park the car, the rotors will rust a bit over night and it will only wear off after a few braking operations. It will sound kind of like sandpaper rubbing against something. Also, if you park the car with the brake pads wet and engage the parking brake, the pads may freeze to the rotors which will usually leave a little more rust in that area of the rotors.

Next time you hear the noise apply the brakes repeatedly to see if the noise goes away quicker than you have noticed in the past. If it does, rotor rust is likely the problem.

Thanks for the help guys. Just from looking at the rotors there is really minimal rust on them, but that very well could be it. Or if it is the ABS i'd be fine with that if it is typical, thats why i was wondering if anyone else has noticed this or if maybe im just being way to anal about my baby. (since it is by far the most expensive thing i've ever owned) But when i take it to the dealer this weekend i'll definately bring it up. And since knowing my dealer they will probably say they need to keep it over night  just for the new brakes. (Since it took them 2 days to put a spoiler on and detail her last time  ) Maybe they will be able to notice for themselves what i'm talking about the next day.
