Advice Wanted On 8 Faults

Hi ppl,

Ive had my rx8 for over a year now. It Over heated a few weeks back so i took it to mazda and said raditior was damaged due to stones. Anyway got that fixed cost me £700.

Ever since they done it my car has been ideling really bad. When its at a stand still the revs drop right down past one and the car starts like shacking then the revs go back up and all is well. It does this alot and sometimes stalls. also my air con didnt work.

Anyway took it back for them to have a look at they fixed my air con by regassing it all is well with that.

Now there saying my car needs 2x new engine mounts costing £213.12 and an engine bracket costing £856.48. Then my car will be ok and not idel and vibrate.

My arguement is my car was working fine apart from raditior before i took it to mazda and straight away after they repaired my car, it wasnt right, i also rang them on the day i picked it up to tell them.

Do you think theyve done something wrong and dont want to fork out for it so trying to get me to pay for it, or is it just these things seemed to go wrong when they had it.

Just seems alot of money to pay for stuff that wasnt wrong when i took it to them.

Just wondering if anyone has had similar experinces with mazda and what the outcome was.

Regards Andy

They dont really need to touch your engine mount and stuff to change the rad out.

and how can the stone get to the rad? it should hit your AC Condenser first. Buy a screen to protect it, Racing Beat one is better than Mazda's

Hi mate thanx for the quick reply now idea how the stone damaged the raditor it what mazda said had happened and they also said its a common fault with the rx8 as rad is close to the ground.

I dont know what is up with the engine mounts and brackets they didnt say, but only thing i can think could be wrong would be corrosion, is it common for them to corrod if that what it is just after 3 years.

Regards Andy
