2 questions ,please help!

Hi, I need help, can some one that knows how to do this tell me?

1) how do I remove the power side mirrors and install a new one?
2) how do I remove the panel with the trim dashboard light button on it?

I wanna change my side view mirror to something more fancy
I also wanna add a button on to the panel on the lower left corner of the steering wheel

if it was posted before, I'm very sorry, but I can't find it

thanks!!! :worship: :worship:

Q & A.....

Turn the mirror all the way "in" to the car, then get a tool in on the outer edge and pop it out of it's socket, this gives a look at all the workings and screws inside.

There is no secret to popping out the blank switch plates in the dash, but you will need VERY slim wrists, and you WILL be cut by the sharp edges up there. Just get your arm up inside to the elbow and push 'em out.

you liez!!! it didn't pop out and I cut myself for no reason!

paulmasoner 04-22-2007 01:37 AM

haha, no, he doesnt lie. but i know the feeling. i put my remote knob from my amp in one of those blank panels next to the DSC. if you can reach all the way in there and squeeze on the top and bottom the clips will release and it just falls out then. i also found that if you take a very small screwdriver, wrap the end in electrical tape, and slide it under one of the blank panels you can pop them out that way relatively easy...

he didnt lie, thats how you take it off, it sounds a bit scary but thats the way to do it.

I did mine couple months ago to install the puddle lights

Its tough, you need to look under there for the tabs to press on the top and bottom of the buttons.

last time i popped them out i slit a vein in my thumb that bled for two days non-stop. I seriously thought I was going to bleed to death.

Finally got it out, thankyou for the pointer, god dam it I actually removed that metal plate at the bottom of the steering wheel s o I dont cut my self, I ended up cutting myself on my pinkie(top clip), my wrist(the entrance somewhere) and my thumb(bottom clip)

for crying out loud is mazda making this a death trap?, my spamming skills are reduced by 60%!

To take the side mirrors out you have to push down and out the tweeter cover. Have someone hold the mirror to make things easier, then unscrew the three screws being careful not to drop anything in your door. There's a clip holding the mirror now, so wiggle it and move it around until it comes out. If you brake it don't panic, just get some epoxy if you want to fix it.

I have no idea how did you cut yourself. deathtrap? Sorry but I think most accidents were caused by user error.
