05 Switchblade key

Will the '05 Switchblade key work on an 04 RX8? All I find when
I looked up remotes are the smart card one and the keyless one.

yes it will work, I have one for my 04. You just need to go through the programming steps which is p0sted on here somewhere

Called the Mazda dealer and they said that they couldnt do it.

you can do it yourself... search for the procedure - it takes all of 5 minutes to accomplish

your dealer is dumb. many people have done it (including me). There's a thread in the DIY section.
