Building race car, what are these sensors and control unit

I need to know what these sensors and control unit are and which on I can remove. i'd like to keep the dsc.

i think the red circle is for the keyless FOB. the purple circle is the head light leveling. and the yellow is for yaw sensor for DSC. not sure about the green and orange.

thanks,

I believe the one in the 3rd picture is TPMS. Can't speak for the rest. Unplug them and find out?

Agreed, green looks like TPMS receiver.

Yellow looks like the yaw sensor for the DSC.

Orange is the stereo noise filter.

It looks to me like someone was momitoring racing parameters for data collection/video or it might be DSC stuff, didn’t have DSC in my car and so those parts didn’t exist for me; brake pressure near ABS unit, g-meter on center console. The last one is part of the factory stereo system. I think it’s a noise reducer or something. I removed it when I pulled all the stereo speakers etc out.

Must be factory DSC etc. stuff. Between the factory service and electrical manuals you should be able to figure it all out. Every racer should have those. The paper copies, not the online versions. The online stuff is from 2003 and has a bunch of errors, mistakes, or is missing later changes. You need those two manuals for your specific model year. Every racer should have them

looks like the orange circle in the last picture is some type of resister box for the rear defroster. copper coil with wires that lead to the defroster.

sorry, it's the noise filter for the rear defroster so that when you use the defroster it doesn't generate a buzzing sound through the speaker system

that makes sense.

is there any easy way to make the rear defroster functional since i removed the stock HVAC system, and the radio. or i have put the stock hvac controls back in and use the METRA kit to interface with the stock rear defroster.

Well I have to still try and figure that part out too. The rear defroster I could live without, but the front fan/defroster would be preferred to operate. I'm sure it can be done even if some rewiring is needed to amke it happen Kind of a pain that they ran it through the head unit though so without that you have to do something different to get them to operate

I figured out that the first pic blue circle is for the power windows. Weird that they would put power window stuff over there.

took the car out tonight for a test drive to make sure everything is still working. TPMS and airbad light is on but that's expected. i took the back of the gauge cluster off hoping i could just pull the bulb like my other cars in the past, but i guess it use internal led and i didn't want pull needles out to get to the inside. so i just used black electrical tape on the gauge face to cover it up

I was going to keep the HVAC initially for defroster, but the cage builder convinced me to removed it, for the cross bar and foot bars. I'm going use a small heat exchanger/blower setup. Should be pretty simple to setup.

I just noticed this thread. My car is caged, and has the whole climate control setup removed. In order to defog the inside of the front windshield, the previous owner tucked some fans under the bar at the top of the windshield and wired them up to switches on the dash. It's sort of slick, but also a bit kludgey. Some day I'll probably do something nicer, but for the meantime it's...fine. I'll try to get a picture or two.
