What to do next?

I'm interested in a turbo or supercharger when they become available at a decent price. But what are some things now that I can purchase that will help the performance of the turbo or supercharger? Such as strut bars, air intakes or anything else. thanks!

exhaust stuff: midpipe, catback

I wouldn't bother with an intake if you a certain you are going FI, as you will either have to ditch it or heavily modify it.

Anything suspension related. If you're changing springs, make sure you check the spring rates. You might need to get shocks along with them.

Transmission cooler, passenger side oil cooler wouldn't hurt. (Stage 0 type stuff, ie reliability mods).

ftwmcmillan 04-27-2006 07:55 AM

thanks for the info, I already have a greddy exhaust. I think I will work on suspension stuff now. Any recommendations for swaybars?

like my Whitelines adj.
All my mods have been suspension or cooling.

NgoRX8 04-29-2006 12:17 AM

yes, you will be changing out a lot of the stuff if you do engine mods so do suspension. you can also get a midpipe if you want, that will be used in FI and has the best gain so far for NA.

That's totally unrelated to the topic at hand. Thanks for your useless input.

Here's your first post, "things that can help the performance of a turbo... "
This statement states clearly what you wanted and I would have avoided replying a useless comment (in your opinion).

You then proceed to add "Such as strut bars" behind the previous statement, so let me ask you, "How does a strut bar helps a turbo...?"

Now my brain tells me either you are an idiot or you might be interested in something that improves the car's performance overall in power and handling after reading that. Hence I tell you the best way to improve your car's performance is get some driving skills, so next time before you start calling my comments as useless; LEARN TO WRITE UP A PROPER QUESTION, NOT A USELESS ONE!

SlayerRX8 04-29-2006 05:13 PM

I assume you think I wrote the question. I didn't. Read a thread carefully. Thank you.

Doesn't matter, my comment is not useless and THANK YOU!

Chill out, buddy. The guy posting this is obviously new and is looking for some help, not for some flaming. I agree, strut bars and things of the like have nothing to do with a turbo. His question isn't entirely clear. However, I really hope you don't think that "purchase some driving skills" comes off as helpful or nice to the guy.

Anyway, I'm going to drop this since arguing helps neither of us. Let's get this question clarified.

ftwmcmillan - Do you mean the overall performance of the car, or the performance of the turbo itself?

yiksing 04-30-2006 04:58 AM

OK OK my bad, let's start all over again.

ftwmcmillan 04-30-2006 07:49 AM

sorry for the confusion, looking for performance of the car. I'm looking to add things that will help the improvement of the car. But I will be adding a supercharger or turbo when they become available. I have purchased a greddy exhaust and now I'm going to add the midpipe. So I was looking at adding sway bars. I don't really want to add anything to the engine yet since I don't know what else I will have to add once I add a supercharger. Thanks for the help.

very mature. I agree, let's start over :)

ftwmcmillan - sway bars are a great mod for our car...do some searching and take the time to read up on them. I'm sure if you find some sway bars suited for your tastes, you'll be very happy with the results.
