Spark Plugs

Alright so I am at 34k miles now on my 2005 GT Auto.

I am fairly certain these are the original plugs & wires. Anyways, I'm not sure which route to go with the new ones. Should I just go for the OEM ones again? Or is there a more effective aftermarket kit? What are the cost differences? How much harder are these wires / plugs to install then say, my 2003 mazda 6i that I owned previously (which was easy as hell).

Thanks for the advice!

get the cheap ones from Mazsport . No reason to waste money on OEMs

http://www.mazsport.net/store/index....oduct_list&c=9

Someone suggested these ones (ex RX7) don't last as long as the OEMs - can anyone confirm or deny this ?

OEM spark plugs are your friend. try buying them from some of our vendors for good prices.

PM Charles R Hill (BHR) he is a vendor on here. You can get a good price from him. Also change out the plug wires too while you are at it.

I just replaced my plugs, it isnt hard, basically jack up the car and remove the front left wheel and you'll have good access to the plugs. however its pretty far in so you'll need an extension and a swivel joint is veyr helpful too. check out the DIY section there are a couple on changing the spark plug.

The deal with plugs on a rotary is different to piston.

Mazda will tell you the plugs for the 13B-MSP are good for 60k km. Perhaps but you will pay for it.

After about 20k km you will notice the fuel consumption increasing for unknown reasons whilst the power feels smooth & constant. Thats the point when the spark is dropping off due to wear & tear on the plug.

Time to change.

Dont buy from Mazda. Pay less than half the price at www.sparkplugs.com for the same NGK plug.

And they sell the wires too? Cuz I found the plugs on there, but should I go through mazsport for the wires? Also I'm a good bit over 34k miles so i really, really need to replace them.

You can get the NGK plugs from Mazsport. I just paid 59 bucks for all 4.
