I have a 2006 shinka at :( and one i dont like the at transmission two what modifications can i do to my car to make it fast that the AT will handle?

Sell the AT and buy a MT.

The fastest anyone has gotten the AT to go is about what a MT can get with Full N/A mods + tuning..

First, you can buy the twin turbos from a 1993-1995 RX-7, they are a direct swap. It's basically a plug-n-play kinda deal. You can find them at junkyards everywhere for a little bit under $200. This will give you an instant extra 200 whp. You can always try the electric turbonator or supercharger, that's a lot simpler to do but you'll have to order it online instead, it also comes with a nifty super boost button. As for suspension, just take out the springs and ride on the shocks, this will dramatically drop your car so you will have a lower center of gravity and it will handle a lot better. I hope this help!

Unfortunately, the RX-8 completely stock is limited about 145-150 mph. That is way too slow in today's world. Even Prius's have us beat. It's sad I know. In order to break that mark, we have found that the cheapest way is to find a really long downhill. The steeper the better. Pushing your car out of a plane works too, but only one person has been willing to try that, and well, it didn't turn out so well. Talk about a headache of an engine rebuild.

Aside from that, your only options are located in vehicles that don't have RX or 8 in the name.

I have 4 1993 RX-7 turbos in my car and I beat Ferraris and Lamborghinis on a daily basis, I'm pushing 800whp and it's my daily driver. I have 8 RX-7 turbos in my Civic and I can break the sound barrier with that.

But if you don't like the AT (understandable) then your only option is to trade for an MT.

you're already ahead of the guys with stock '04 or '05 AT's as they had 4port engines with less hp then you.

How fast do you want to go?
how mechanically inclined are you?
Have you considered Forced Incuction?
How much do you want to spend?

simple answers:
- Nitrous is cheap and effective
- Turbo or Supercharger can add quite a bit of horsepower but you're kissing your warranty goodbye and it's not cheap. (just ask Phil8 and his beautiful Supercharged 4 port AT)

This Prius though, http://www.autoblog.com/2004/12/22/w...astest-hybrid/ hit 130. They are running 550 volts, compared to the standard 500v Prius.

We have what....12v? Clearly they are faster.

1. AT to MT swap is not very easy.
it's been done once that I know of and it's quite the process. HONESTLY, you're almost better off selling the car and buying an MT. It's not just about switching transmisisons.

2. "go as fast as possible"
speed is not an issue, you can easily do over 120+ mph in an AT.
are you tracking the car?
drag race?
or you just feel like you need more hp.

As I said in my first post, trade it for a MT dude.

The swap will cost you just as much if not MORE than going FI.

Going FI in an AT will yield as much power as an N/A MT.

Or get a different car, this is not built for straight line speed.

Easy_E1 has been experimenting with it and his little 4port is putting down almost 200hp to the wheels! (that beats out most M/Ts)

what car did you drive before the 8?
just wondering where this 'need' for more hp is coming from. The 8 is not a fast car but it is very quick. stay up in the high revs and you'll see how quick this thing can really be.

Honestly dude save up and go FI (Super/Turbo charged) but for now go with a midpipe and Mazda Maniac AP(You can pm him), these come with tunes. Intake if you must, but think about smaller things to like upgrading your ignition (BHR), Wider tires.....IDK. You say you just want to go fast as possible lol, how fast? 200mph drag racing fast which would require you to swap out the engine lol, or being able to keep up with a TT350Z or ferrari fast:yelrotflm. Dude, the question just seems to be a bit to broad and I really don't know exactly what you want.

500whp, swap to a 3 rotor and MT tranny then single turbo. Really depends on what you do with the car and how much you can afford.

You can find tons of info on parts and tuning even engine builds on this forum just know what you want. Hope that helps. I'm swapping to a manual because of the price I bought my car for and mileage that was on it and there was no other rx8 manuals that were in the price range and I already wasted tons of money on my Single Turbo 350z which I don't really drive anymore and I'm not complaining about the AT tranny and WHP numbers but I know what my goal is for the car and this is why I'm swapping and I see potential in the rx8 not to mention this car rides so much more comfortable than my 350 and has back seats lol. Like I said, I think it really depends on what you like to do with the car whether its a Daily driver, Track car, or drag racing etc. Its just so much you can do with this car. Oh yea, don't worry about that swapping out the turbo from
a rx7 bullshit. I was on another thread where they said that shit which was really a waste of time from non-important people. Go talk to real people who really race and not just talk. I'm fairly new to this rx8 shit but know a good amount about cars considering I built up my 350 which is gutted with just roll cages and Bride racing seats and a single turbo which I did myself and some tuning. You got to remember that this shit takes time... no joke, money out the ass lol is what I always say.

My first suggestion would be to read all the available information on this forum to improve the 8. Pick and choose what you think will work for you. From your tone and posts, you will not do this and expect someone to just come along and give you all your answers.
