Passenger Side Oil Cooler

Just wanted to see who else has done this on their AT rx8 and see what your impressions were before and after the install?

One thing I notice is that when the car is at running temperature the idle seems to be a bit smoother. I don't have temp. gauges in the car as of yet so I don't have any before and after temps. Does anyone on here know how much it brings the temp. down adding the second oil cooler? I have read 30 degrees F but do not know how accurate that is.

One other thing I would like to know is does anyone else notice that the oil at every change is dark? Not black but definitely a lot darker than I would expect considering I change my oil every 3k miles.

Cheers

We did this mod to a friend's RX-8. On track days his oil temps were about 40-45 degrees cooler after the install. Very worthwhile modification.

During an oil change, you can't get all of the old oil out since it is stuck in the oil coolers. You'll likely only get a little more than half of it out with the 2 coolers you have now.

Its not a big deal, oil color is far from an indication that it has lost its lubricating properties.
