over 37 horsepower AT kit

SR motorsports has a GT-3 package that adds 28 hp and a GT-4 kit that adds 37+. Only thing is it costs $2069 ($2099 for polished kit). This is a bad deal for a manual but auto packages are hard to find. Also, this is only for the 06 autos which are 6 ported and have 6 speeds.

THE SITE

Edit: The site says automatics and 6 speed I thought it said auto six speed. Should work on 05 I assume.

37 HP - Something fishy here ! Lots of forum members have a lot more intensive mods than that & are not be able to get that rwhp.
If it were true I would buy it like a shot .

Let's just say that you could "dyno prove" a 10whp gain for an headlamp change.

You'd gain some power, but nowhere near 37whp. You might get 12-15, but it won't be at peak, somewhere in the midrange I'd guess. One car might do better than another just based on how it's factory tune affects it.

$2069 is alot for maybe 20hp at the most. $100 per horse, i'll pass

The package is bs no way your going to get 37 hp from just bolt ons

maybe he meant crank

For the price it is not worth the actual gains. Just last week a previous RX-8 owner told me if they had to do again they would have done more research before hoppin' in to SR and grabbing products because of claims and the constant sale that ends Friday... (never comes down it is just a marketing ploy). He said that with such sincerity I had to convey it.

I have the SR High Flow cat and like it, but do some homework before parting with your potentially hard earned money.

First of all, the prices are insane, and they just don't add up. Exhaust for maybe 400$, pulleys for another 250$, intake for about 300$, that makes 950-1000$. Why 1350$ ? As for the racing cat, I'd guess 400$, so for the complete set we are looking at 1500$ MAX.

But I forgot, these are "brand" products, so you have to pay for the little label/panel/inscription as well :nono:

12HP from the pulleys ? :Eyecrazy:

And without any ECU fiddling, I doubt you could see anything above 15-20 crank HP.....

Bro....my friend just bought a K&N cold air intake for auto Rx-8 and he got 10rwhp alone with that. So idk where u are getting 15-20 hp to the crank

do you have physical proof of +10 hp, or is it just the butt dyno?

10RWHP from an intake ? This wasn't doable even with intake/TID/cold-box in my RX7 TII :Eyecrazy:

Even RB states that their intake+ramair (which seems to be the best overall) has been dyno-proven to produce 7-8 crank HP. I doubt even this number, which of course is a far cry from the 10WHP that you claim.....

As to where I'm getting the 15-20 crank HP guestimate, its exactly that: an educated guess. I have seen similar mods to various cars (including RX7s and RX8s), and I can tell you that their dyno charts (because this is where I am basing my estimation) show AT BEST a 20HP increase......and this is WITH ECU re-calibration to take into account the new mods....Of course "recalibration" means we are messing ONLY with the WOT maps, because the "cruising" maps are not to touched lightly ;)
