Have any one succefully reset their ECU
 

I try the method one but it didn't clear my engine light problem.

the second method didn't work.

(There are two reset procedures, one for the NVRAM and the other for the KAM. Neither will erase your radio presets and such like the method SpooledUp7 posted:

1) With the key in the off position, press and hold the odometer reset button and turn the key to on;
Continue to hold the odo button until the odometer reads "TEST" and then release.
2) Turn the key to off and repeat step one.

This will reset the entire PCM except the KAM which contains the sensor profiles amongst other things. You can reset it with the familiar procedure:

1) Turn the key to on
2) Depress the brake pedal rapidly 20 times in a row until the oil pressure gauge sweeps to halfway and back again. )

because I know that resetting it helps the car perform better, because it have a intelligent system that learn the driver driving habit. So if you modded it you should reset it.

Maybe cobb by MM able to do that?!

You can't clear a check engine light with either of your procedures. If you weren't in CA, I would suggest you go to a local auto parts store and have them read the code and reset it for you. And here's the problem, you have a error code because there is a problem that needs to be corrected.
A Cobb AP would be able to read the code and reset it. There are cheaper ways if that is all your looking for. Simple code readers, I believe, you can get for under $150. You need to make certain that the one you get is can bus compatible.
Also, resetting the ecm won't make your car run better. It learns to run at optimum. Resetting the computer can actually make it run worse in some cases, until it finds the correct settings again.

God damn that is the easiest way, haha. I try that tomorrow.

Yeah, definitely follow Al's advice and find out what the code is. Autozone will read it for free for you. Or you can buy something like a scangauge that will also let you give you a bunch of gauges (you can display up to 4 at a time) from data that it reads off the ECU from the OBDII port. You can mount it on your dash. It will also let you reset codes.

But if you just want to find out what is causing this one check engine light, go to autozone and have them read it. Or if you are still under warranty just have the mazda dealer check it out.

Wait so you are saying that, if you have mods for ex. a exhaust and running no cat. Reset the ecu by doing this method and it should be a difference in power? i thought that can be done by cobb ap or other ecu reflashers

The ECU keeps track of fuel trims and tunes them over a period of time for your driving style, altitude, and the condition of your engine etc. If you add an intake/exhaust and just drive the car, theoretically it would calibrate to the mods on it's own after a few driving sessions. Of course, sometimes an intake/exhaust mod can cause your car to stall at idle or something, so you can reset it to start from defaults if you encounter problems. You won't get more power by resetting the ECU. It's trying to find the optimal fuel/air mixture, not saying "I think this guy can only handle 150HP because he drives like a granny so I won't give him full power"

Resetting the ECU is not going to fix a check engine light. At the very best, it will just clear the code and do nothing to address the problem that set the code in the first place.
