Man, I wish I never sold my Greddy kit for so cheap about 2 years ago..

I saved up and I am purchasing an Esmeril Racing turbo kit. I'll be using the COBB AP to tune, so I need to find a way to change the MAF sensor position.. :(

Any tips or tricks before I attempt this.. I am currently rounding up all the parts.

Take care,
Mark

I don't remember exactly how the Intake to the turbo is routed on the Esmeril kit, but can you add extra piping and have the MAF above the crash bar?

couple of "tips".
1. Fuel > 2 330 Pris and s 880 Secs = 2420. Good for a safe 8psi (on a T04E). Anything over 8 psi, goes lean quick.
More fuel = King! (i'm looking at 2x ID 2000's)

2. Aeromotive 340 Lph in tank pump.

3. Good Synthetic ATF and a extra cooler with a Level10 Torque converter.
World of difference.

The RE is tha same as the Greedy. Tune is different, thats all.
So Yes, in a way.

X7rotor 08-24-2012 10:39 PM

Wish there was more info on this fitment, i do want to turbo but i'll be adding more support mods before such a feat is done.

You could, but its a flaming pices of camel poop for our cars in the way of tuning.
Either get a Cobb from MazdaManiac (mazdamaniac.com) or an Adaptronic from Turblown (Turblown.net)

Tuning isn't with either one of the above mentioned solutions isnt a slam bam, thank you ma'am thing. MM's live tuning over Googletalk is as close to live tuning you can get, without someone in your car tuning real time.

As for the Adaptronic, Look up ShellDudes Adaptronic thread. He's an AT and broke some new ground with the Adaptronic.
Good stuff.

His HP #s are all screwed up unless he's taking #s off the flywheel... even then they're exaggerated. The 4 port simply doesn't make those #s NA.

2004 auto wanting turbo willing to take risk

Hello everyone. I bought a 2004 automatic rx8 with the optional shifter. I fully intend on putting a turbo on the vehicle. I have read the entire thread and it seems there is very little information about successful addition of turbo. Good news for everyone here is that I just got my car for 4,000 dollars because of my employee discount with enterprise holdings, so risk of failure to me is minimal finanically. I really do not know much about cars at all except that I have always loved the rx8 and it needs to get some power on the start off. If you guys can come up with a good theory on set up you would like to see on the automatic rx8 and everything you think would be needed to support the turbo charger, I am willing to have it installed and tested to see the actual performance gains and I will keep you posted. So if anyone has any ideas my car was so cheap I am willing to be the test subject so just let me know and lets see if we can figure out a perfect set up for the automatic once and for all lol.

SIncerely,

Willing modification guinee pig.

Sorry i already have taken the guinea pig spot. Please read the links in my sig.
I have to update the pics locations in the Greddy link. I saw a 60 - 80 Hp bump with the greddy and a 110 hp bump with the To4E. Base dyno was 140.
