flywheel
Ok so let me start by saying I don't know much about cars so this might seem like a dumb question to some of you. Can you change the flywheel on an AT or is that only a MT option? Thanks
|
yes you can change it. If you do be sure to check the muffler bearings and blinker fluid while you are under there.
|
if i recall correctly, dont quote me on this, but the RX8 AT is based off a flywheel type system..

FYI...the counter weight used for the ACT Prolite is actually the counter weight from the AT.

Got to love 6 port pukes don't we now.
the flywheel is only a M/T option. Any benefit to the A/T in this part of the drive train would be a diffrent torque converter. I haven't been able to track one that fits in the 8 yet. |
I thought the blinker fluid and muffler bearings would have tipped him off.....

Jtthedude,
the flywheel is located behind the clutch disc and the clutch cover which is only found on manual transmissions. Flywheel-----Locknut----Pilot bearing----oil seal----Clutch disc----Clutch Cover----Clutch Release Collar----Clutch Fork----Clutch release cylinder In this order is the complete Clutch system that is located before the opening in the (found at the rear of the) manual transmission, |
