COBB needs RX-8 ATs for the AccessPort

Initially, that's looking like it'll be 2004-2005 6MTs so we can release sometime quickly after the beginning of the year. We'd love to add AT support and 2006-2007 support as well but without the cars, we can't do it. We really need the cars, not just PCM/ECUs. We've done all the testing on the bench we can do, now we just need to take what we consider a very close to final product and put it in production vehicles and make sure that when used exactly how an end-user will use it, it works as expected. This is final stage type of testing, but we need to do at least this phase in house before we start shipping beta units around the country.

Once we get that done and we all comfortable with how the AccessPORT is working, then the next phase is ramping up the custom tuning side of things which will of course be focused on the FI cars and one-off setups. That's when we'll need to get various FI setups here and begin developing the TUNER software to support them (if it can't already). We won't be focused necessarily on developing mapping to distribute but rather the software so other vendors can developing their own mapping and/or offer custom tuning at their own facility.

So yes, I'm excited to get some S/C or turbo RX-8s in here for tuning but right at this moment, for our first step, we need stock-ish cars to test what we're going to sell as a plug-in-play, ready to use device. THEN we'll start working on wrapping up the custom stuff, end-user tuning software, etc.

Again, ANY 2004-2008 RX-8s, ANY transmission type with no more than basic bolt ons and can bring their car to our facility in SLC, UT please let me know.

Cheers,
Trey @ COBB

damnit.. I live in MA.
I'd sooo bring my car down to them but yeah they're to far away. Maybe this should also be posted in the regional forums where they are located. Someone local might know someone and point them in that direction. Its nice to know that they are really looking into our car now especially us A/T's

Well there in booney land.

I don't think I'm gonna drive up there and fly back and forth.

Even though they can have the car for a month.

I can think about it, seems too much of a hassel.

Of all the complainers out there with an at, here is your chance to get the flash. They want stock ats (bolt-ons OK) or I would be there already. I know of several whom I have heard from in SoCal.

I can't say I ever complained about my AT, also having a S/C on the AT shows the true potential what it can do!

I know this is a HUGE post resurrection but did anyone happen to create AT maps? I have an 04 AT and really don't wanna spend $300 on MM Tunes from Jeff because I just spent $400 getting the Accessport and am on a student budget.

I know it is an old thread and I apologize now for thread necromancy, but I've been looking for someone to help me tune my 2004 AT RX-8 Touring. Have AP cat-back exhaust, sohn adapter, high flow water pump, racing beat intake, yellow top optima battery, and bhr upgrade kit. Currently waiting for my Cobb AccessPort to arrive in the mail. I live a short distance from SLC and would be happy to bring my car up there if you're still in need. Feel free to pm me and i'll give you my contact details.

1. Their request was from 8 years ago

2. They are no longer located in SLC

3. They no longer support the RX8 application.
