Is there any real difference or gain going with the Denso?

Denso Japan declared these sparks have special coating for preventing flooding, I'm not aware how effective it is because my previous set died after just 14000km. But I felt it's a little help in raising rev after replacement. May be there is some "Psycharistic influence" :wiggle:

For those that have done it, how much do we need for a complete change out of the ATF? The manual says 9.2 US quarts. I'm guessing I'll need slightly more?

I just changed my atf to rp. I think this is one of the best things you can do for the auto. It cost me $140 at a local shop. You can tell the difference.

For trans oil I use Castrol DEXRON-III MECRON, supposed to be really good

You guys should try the NGK BUR-7EQ for leading and the BUR-9EQ for trailing. They are less than $5 a piece and if you want platinum add a "P" at the end of the part number and pay about a buck more.

Well Pepboys has it, that is if you have a Pepboys in your area. Also NAPA carries Royal Purple fluids.

So FD Rx-7 plugs work in the 8. I forgot that.

OK, I'm convinced that I want to change out my Automatic Transmission Fluid and Rear Diff fluid at no later than the 2000 mile mark.

I went in asked my dealership if using either Red Line or Royal Purple synthetic products in the Auto Trans or Rear Diff would void my warranty. They said they would have to research (I'm certain they will come back and say it won't but I want it on record).

So I've still got about two weeks before this needs to be done and I've got to get the oil ordered and sent to me (small town, no locally carries either).

Which actual Red Line and Royal Purple products do I need?

Don't ever tell a dealer you intend to use synthetics. If you give them any reason at all to come up with a bs excuse to void your warranty, they will. Never volunteer information. They can not check to see if what you hae is synthetic. They can only go by your word.

Well I was actually planning to have my dealer do the AT and Diff oil changes and provide the Royal Purple oil to them. I've read other here have done the same thing.

I think that the dealer may squawk over synthetic engine oil, but I think as long as I provide the ATF and Diff oil that meets their published spec, there isn't an issue. That's why I asked for advice about the specif RP or Red Line ATF and Gear Oil product names that match up with the published specs.

I don't know of any one else but the dealer in my area I would trust to crack the case and do these oil changes.

Ok, the dealer said no problem putting synthetic in the Automatic Transmission or the Diff. They asked if I wanted them to get some to have ready when I bring it in or if I was planning on bringing my own.

I want to order either Red Line or Royal Purple. I think I have identified the Royal Purple products that would fit the bill:
- RP Max Gear Oil 75W90 for the Diff
- RP Max ATF

I still can't discern which Red Line products would match up:
? Synthetic ATF or C+ ATF or Hi-Temp ATF?
- 75W90NS (I think someone posted that we do NOT need additional friction modifiers, so the NS is the right gear oil).

Can some one confirm which Red Line ATF product is correct.

And then I'm open to objective inputs concerning a preference for Red Line or Royal Purple. Of course its an Amsoil product so you have to take it with a grain of salt, but the "Motor Oil Bible" (http://www.trustmymechanic.com/motor-oil-bible.pdf) seems to rate Red Line above Royal Purple.

k so i flushed my tranny fluid and changed my oil today. took like 2 hours!!!!!
when your putting the pan back on make sure you dont tighten the bolts to much, they WILL snap! i snapped 2 bolts yesterday when i put the pan back up after removing all the tranny fluid. i had to drill the bolts out then tap into it, rethread the tranny housing bolts because i stripped the threads when i was drilling the bolts out. other than this minor encounter everything was easy. watch for the waterfall when you start unbolting the pan, a lot of fluid is gonna come out.
