Not too shabby even after you deduct the 9% higher reading a Dyna-Pak will give

Always with the negative waves. And where did you get your info from? Would you like to elaborate in your own "Dyno's that fail" thread?

Rotr8 08-21-2012 08:30 PM

good job, Easy, BHR and Phil,,, nice work and the C-West looks outsanding!!!
Just noticed Phil did the same treatment to his trunk as me,,, yahhh!!!

TeamRX8 08-21-2012 08:44 PM

Not sure what you mean? The numbers are pretty good even once you correlate them to the type of real world chassis dyno that most people commonly use.

I'll take that as a compliment!

I can report this particular Dynopak has been within 1% to 2% of several Dynojet units that we have used in the past. One of the many reasons we prefer to use UMS Tuning's Dynopak.

I had a great opportunity to with closely with UMS's owner Tony who is a well experienced tuner and well recognized within the aftermarket community. He has had limited opportunity to observe how RX8's are tuned so we worked together on Phil's RX8. Tony was able to also provide a lot of great pointers from the perspective of tuning various other makes and models.

We are excited that Phil's RX8 will be back on the road and he can get back to enjoying his vehicle after being deprived of it for so long.

Great work guys - good to see some positive results around here for a change !

Danmn858 08-23-2012 12:01 AM

So uhh... wanna supercharge my car now? haha.

Phil's 8 08-23-2012 07:25 AM

Nice job guys.....I am looking forward to getting it back. Rotr8, Thank you for the complement on the front bumper it does look good. Yes that rear end should look familiar .

I want to thank Tony, Flashwing & Easy_1 for all the work they are putting into my 8.

I've slowed down my attempts lately but I am still determined to get this beast to 300hp.

If it wasn't an AT I'd say no problem . But the best a Pettit 6 port MT has done is 330 so you are really up against it .
Fit a decent sized turbo and you might get there :suspect:

BTW ... I miss your old Avatar :(

Nothing against turbos, would just like to do it with a s/c. I know it's difficult but I'm not ready to give up.

Oh, OK I'll see if I can find her just for you Brettus :fingersx:

if you really want to fixate on numbers then try velocity vs time on a level surface with all else being equal

in comparison any other number such as boost, dyno, MAF, etc. doesn't mean diddly ... fast is fast, everything else is BS

Danmn858 08-23-2012 03:02 PM

me next me next!

That is subjective to weather conditions, tires, suspension, driver and various other variables.

I'm well aware of the details and qualified them succinctly. If I wanted to write a dissertation or otherwise argue over it I'd have gone there ...

You are a 1 man circle jerk. Every thread you just can't wait to blow your wad with what you believe to be some bit of information no one has considered.

Not surprised. You seem to be the type that is easily amused.
